We’re Losing the Light
26.11.26 - 02.12.26
My series of paintings titled “We’re Losing the Light” will be exhibited in November 2026 in Dublin.
We're Losing the Light is a series of paintings exploring moments of transition, departure, and emotional threshold. Through the use of chiaroscuro and fading natural light, the works reflect on the fragility of the present moment and the wider state of the world. Solitary figures inhabit quiet spaces of travel and distance, suspended between endings and beginnings.
Liminal spaces captured in quiet often unsettling moments. As the light diminishes, the series becomes both a meditation on uncertainty and a reminder of the importance of seeking moments of joy within it.
The Queer Portrait Project
The Queer Portrait Project is a collaborative body of work I am creating in 2026 across Ireland in response to the erasure of the
LGBTQIA+ communities rights and history in the US and the impact its policies are already having on the UK and the inevitable spread of this harmful rhetoric. This project is a snapshot of the community in Ireland in 2026 in the form polaroidesque portraits that capture a moment in time. It is an archive of our own by the community, for the community. Sitters spend some time with me having an open conversation in a safe space about their journeys and their hopes while I sketch. Each conversation is recorded consensually for my artistic process so that I can listen back while I paint to capture the essence of the person and our interaction. This project will be exhibited in June 2027.
